Exciting Displays at Windermere Airshow 2009...

Last year was an exceptional year in the history of the Windermere Airshow both in the quality of the air display and in the record numbers attending. We were very lucky that the recently restored XH558 Vulcan Bomber flew over Windermere late on Saturday afternoon providing a thrilling display and the Red Arrows gave a much extended display, showing off their amazing flying skills, on the Sunday.

Both days saw a display by the BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) Spitfire, Hurricane & Dakota.

In addition to these highlights there were some stunning aerobatic displays from the Red Hawk Motor Glider, the Swift Aerobatic Team and the Mustang P-51 pilots.

Unfortunately windy weather conditions prevented the wing walkers from performing and one of their aircraft was slightly damaged when taking off to come to the show.

The many of old favourites were also be back, including the privately owned Jet Provost, the RAF Hawk and the Chinook helicopter.

This year, 2010, is still at the planning stage but we hope to have a spectacular show for all to enjoy. As display bookings become known they will be listed with details in this air-display section of the site.
